Western Canada may be known for its skiing throughout the winter months, but the forests and alpine plains create the ultimate winter playground. On this 7 day activity packed Rockies adventure, you will travel through the snow laden wonderlands of Banff National Park and take a thrilling helicopter excursion followed by a dogsledding tour through remote and pristine areas. In Jasper, tours in the surrounding silent woods and in Maligne Canyon will reveal the beauty of the frozen landscape. Continuing on to Lake Louise, discover the serenity of the valley perched below the glacier during a peaceful guided snowshoe excursion

Includes:

Day 1. Calgary to Banff. After arriving at Calgary International Airport, you are assisted with your transfer to Banff– a resort village in the magnificent Rocky Mountains

Day 2. Banff. Explore the wilderness surrounding Banff on a thrilling heli-dogsledding adventure. You day begins with a helicopter tour over the snowcovered Rocky Mountain peaks. Land at a local mountain ranch where you are met by a team of dogs for your riverside dogsled experience. Return to the ranch for lunch and complete your day with a sleigh or wagon ride around the property before returning to Banff.

Day 3. Banff to Jasper. Today with the help of a naturalist guide, you will visit Banff’s landmarks and view wildlife in their natural habitat. Hear how the history of the Bow Valley changed when three railway workers rediscovered a hidden treasure. See and learn about local wildlife’s behaviour, habitat, and winter survival adaptations. The tour includes: hot chocolate and a light snack, transfers to and from the hotel, admission to the Cave and Basin and use of binoculars and spotting scope. After your excursion, you are transferred along the Icefields Parkway through the breathtaking scenery of Banff and Jasper National Parks.

Day 4 . Jasper. The quiet alpine village of Jasper is set amidst the towering beauty of Jasper National Park, home to a wide variety of woodland and mountain animals . embark on a nature tour of the area with a knowledgeable guide revealing the hidden wonders of area’s flora and fauna. Today you will also enjoy an excursion to Maligne Canyon, deepest canyon in Jasper National Park. Walk on the frozen floor of the canyon and stop for photos of the Queen of Maligne and Angel Icefalls.

Day 5 . Jasper. Today you enjoy another day in Jasper, including a 3-hour guided snowshoeing excursion to explore parts of Jasper National Park. Watch for animal tracks and take in the sounds and sights of a crisp winter day.

Day 6. Jasper to Lake Louise. Travel back along the Icefields Parkway towards Lake Louise. After a scenic drive, arrive in Lake Louise acclaimed the “Jewel of the Rockies,” and said to be Canada’s most photographed lake. Admire the beauty of the lake from inside the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, which stands atop a giant glacial moraine. Upon arrival, check into your hotel before departing on your snowshoeing excursion through the forests and scenic trails of this idyllic village.

Day 7 . Lake Louise to Calgary. You are transferred to Calgary International Airport for your flight home. Stay longer if you wish.
