Tips

You fly into the city of Holguin which is in the centre of the island. Expect a 60 to 90 transfer from the airport to your resort on the coast.

There really aren't many interesting day trip options here, so expect to spend your time almost exclusively on your resort.

Blau Costa Verde, Occidental Playa Turquesa and Playa Costa Verde: All are good, 4 star properties located in nice beaches.

Paradisus Rio de Oro: Probably the most luxurious choice in the region and usually a pretty good value.

Hotel Don Lino and Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Budget properties if you want really cheap and cheerful. Just don't have high expectations of the food.
